Yes we can hear you -- after ~30 seconds we then hear your echo presumably from your computer

-  04-17-2021 05:05
Still trying to mute the echo.

Joe -  04-17-2021 05:05
I'd say just go ahead -- it's not very loud out here.

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:06
This is really interesting.  I am looking forward to getting signed up and help get more US rolling stock entered.

Joe -  04-17-2021 05:07
And we can see you :-)

Kurt: Your talents in software development are fantastic with the introduction of themodel railroad collector program. Should there be a concern regarding the longevity of the program or potential future fees that might be accessed? Yhanks, Dave

Hades948 -  04-17-2021 05:13
Hi Kurt!  I'm also a software engineer so I know the amount of work you've had to put into this; it looks really good!  I noticed in the video that there was an "API" tab but it doesn't look like that tab is still there.  Does the website still have a public-facing API?

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:14
Are there field formats to make sure entries stay consistent throughout the database

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:18
👍  Thanks for sharing this with the hobby.

If you have the same type of car ie boxcar but different roadname is there a way to copy the database item and update the changes

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:23
     Nice!

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:27
N scale (MicroTrains, Atlas, Kato) and G scale (USA Trains, Bachmann, Some LGB)

Hades948 -  04-17-2021 05:28
My grandfather used to collect a lot of N, HO, and O scale trains.  He died a few years ago, so I kept all of the trains he had left.  Mainly Lionel stuff.

Bertz -  04-17-2021 05:31
That is one of the main reason I want to get my collection entered. Insurance wants a detailed listing

Willie -  04-17-2021 05:32
it's a nice looking site man thanks

D.pfeifer@comcast.net -  04-17-2021 06:13
Kurt: I was unable to join the chat so my email is with this and the previous question. Does the program accommodate train sets and not only individual train cars/engines? Thanks, Dave

Dave - Yes train sets can be registered in the MRC Wiki.  Currently some collectors register a set as one item and others that register a set by entering one record per item in the set.  It's up to you the level of granularity you require.  The current database has more than 3500 sets and items from sets.  Have a look at the boxed sets category.

Do you have any plans to make G gauge lighting / switching products, specifically those for outdoor use / durability ?

-  04-17-2021 05:39
Yes, we have a couple of customers using our Lamplighter 2S unit for G scale with 2mm fiber.  The Lamplighter FL I think will be too dim for outside, but in honesty, we have not tried that.

George -  04-17-2021 05:50
Do we need a separate Lamplighter flasher unit for each signal?

JStussy -  04-17-2021 05:51
Hello.  I'm very interested in your products.  I'm wondering, though, if you make any products for HO scale traffic lights.

CatherineK -  04-17-2021 05:52
Excited to hear you'll be doing dwarf signals, plus it's kind of a natural given the name! What's the timeline on those being ready for release? Hoping I'll be ready for them come winter this year.

Steve -  04-17-2021 05:52
How do I connect the RR crossing system to Bachmann’s EZ track. I’m just getting started and I’m doing DC

-  04-17-2021 05:53
No - a Lamplighter FL unit will take 4 RR Crossings

-  04-17-2021 05:53
Most of our products are for HO

-  04-17-2021 05:54
Catherine- the dwarf ones will be mid summer 2021

ChipEnglish -  04-17-2021 05:55
Do you have RR crossing signs without words or in German?

-  04-17-2021 05:55
Steve:  I will have to get back to you on this as I don't have an answer right now.

-  04-17-2021 05:57
We haven't yet got crossings with German labeling. You can easily overlabel though

Steve -  04-17-2021 05:57
Ok, that’s fine. Also, how many optical fibers can be connected to one lamplighter box, since I have multiple buildings I would like to light up?

Eddie -  04-17-2021 05:57
Do we direct order from you or do you have a distributor

-  04-17-2021 05:58
With the EZ Track I would use Side detectors if you don't want to drill through them.

-  04-17-2021 05:59
     Where are you located Eddie?

-  04-17-2021 05:59
Lamplighter 1, 16-1.5 mm or 26 -1mm fibers. The Lamplighter 2 holds about twice as many as the Lamplighter 1.

Eddie -  04-17-2021 06:00
     Southeastern Virginia

Steve -  04-17-2021 06:00
How do I buy side detectors for your system? Do you sell them?

-  04-17-2021 06:01
Eddie:  We sell from our web site throughout the USA.

Dan -  04-17-2021 06:03
My layout is foam board on a table. What is the the best way to use your product?

ChipEnglish -  04-17-2021 06:04
For HO houses, train station and platform in a 8 foot section what diameter strands do you recommend?  I guess the genera; question is which fiber for which use?

richard -  04-17-2021 06:06
Do you have a solid table or a sectional one? If the latter how do carry the fiberoptics across the sections? Thanks

gwen -  04-17-2021 06:06
Is the volume on the bell adjustable?

Willie -  04-17-2021 06:09
can you cut the fiber? is there a best way to do it?

Kirk -  04-17-2021 06:09
Do you have product for N scale

ChipEnglish -  04-17-2021 06:11
for the three models 1, 2 and 2S what are the fiber number upper limits for each?

richard -  04-17-2021 06:12
Thank you. Is there a drop in light intensity across  the end-to-end of a 4X8 table

Willie -  04-17-2021 06:13
i may have missed it your video so sorry

Willie -  04-17-2021 06:14
     oopps plz ignore

Tom C -  04-17-2021 06:14
have you considered adding Z scale to your product line too?  such as the flashing crossbucks...

Willie -  04-17-2021 06:15
     can you dim the lights?

richard -  04-17-2021 06:15
Thank you Can you color the ends of the fibers?

jniphone -  04-17-2021 06:19
How do you get the 10% on the website?

Sandy Smith -  04-17-2021 06:20
What is the light temperature of the source LED in K?

-  04-17-2021 06:22
     WGH2021 code for discount

Tom C -  04-17-2021 06:22
     thanks!

dshaw -  04-17-2021 07:29
I'm looking forward to adding your lights to my new layout soon !

BP -  04-17-2021 07:40
how do you join or extend the fibers?

BP -  04-17-2021 07:44
Is the light source LED replaceable?

-  04-17-2021 08:07
We have a fiber connector kit that allows the fibers to be connected.

-  04-17-2021 08:07
The LED is not user serviceable.  To date we have over a thousand in use with no failures.

BP -  04-17-2021 09:25
     Thanks!
